Some sort of western/cowboy/saloon/wild west AU involving Thorne…

This just occurred to me (I don’t know why it didn’t before): if “Beijing” is being translated into a Chinese settlers’ town, then we should call it “Xijing" (which is also the name for the Beijing equivalent in our Fairy Tale AU. ;D)

(If anyone understands why I think this is hilarious and completely appropriate, please let me know. XDD)

(Or just let me know if you don’t get it.)

please share :D love to learn

Beijing (北京) means “Northern Capital”; Nanjing (南京) means “Southern Capital”; Tokyo (東京, dongjing) means “Eastern Capital”; Kyoto (京都, jingdu) means “Capital City.” I’ve often wondered why there wasn’t a Xijing (西京) “Western Capital.”

Actually, in 1868 Kyoto was known as Saikyō (西京, “Western Capital”) for a short period of time, but I guess that didn’t last.
(For anyone who doesn’t know, Nanjing and Kyoto are former capitals of China and Japan, respectively.)

Obviously this is amusing because we’re in the Wild West and we’ve renamed Beijing as Xijing. XD

Worst singer out of the Rampion Gang?

Best singer?

reblog with your headcanons !!

So one day on board the Rampion, Cress grts bored and puts on some music and begins to sing along softly, at least until Thorne notices and begins boasting about her talent,  which sparks a boredom induced sing off.

So Cress is the best singer, because of all her time listening to second era operas and singing along, though Iko, with her android regulated voice is a close second. Thorne couldn’t carry a tune if he had a bucket, and every time he tries to sing Cinder claps her hands over her ears (which send Cress into a fit of giggles, especially when Cinder makes faces at Thornes singing) because with her audio interface anything less than perfect pitch grates on her nerves. Kai is relatively good but out of practice, though his singing makes Cinder go all melty, which she desperately tries to hide. Wolf has a deep baritone voice, but refused to sing. At least, until Scarlet begins to sing and he joins her for an impromptu duet which she rewards him with by introducing him to a new vegetable.

Hm, I like that Cinder has cybnetically-enhanced perfect pitch. Her audio interface could just allow her to ignore the noise though.

And the new vegetable. That’s always good.

My headcanon is that Kai is tonedeaf.

Ha! I love it. Kai is either a glorious singer OR he’s tone deaf. XD;;

ngl it makes me really happy lin and su are in their hogwarts house colors in the show

image

and yes those are their houses suyin is an excellent slytherin and lin is basically the huflepuffiest hufflepuff to ever huffle.  lin would play keeper and su would be a seeker.  lin would be prefect every year she could but not head girl, suyin would never be a prefect but would get head girl 7th year.

also bumi would have been gryffindor, kya gryffindor or ravenclaw, tenzin would be the other hufflepuff prefect

interextrovert
Okay just a super quick question I saw your Hogwarts au art (which I love btw) and it made me wonder what made you put the characters in the houses that they're in? Like how did you decide, what made you think they would fit into that house?

makanidotdot:

Lin is ruled by justice and fairness, she may be terse with people she doesn’t know but once you’ve proven yourself worthy of being trusted she is absolutely and unfailingly loyal.  The times she isn’t necessarily fair is when she feels loyalty has been broken, the more she cares about them to worse it is, like with Su, her mother, and Tenzin.  They get 30 year grudges lol, but also at the same time, she would never outright hurt them.  I don’t think she would ever truly hurt anybody without extreme reasons or it being absolutely necessary.  There isn’t a boisterous, arrogant, venomous, or selfish* bone in her body, she does what she does to the best of her ability simply because it’s what she sees as the right, honest thing to do.  Lin is a precious perfect grumpy lil badger I cannot even fucking deal lkfjgld.

*except for holding on to Tenzin for so long, I think that was technically selfish, but it was also a defense mechanism, Tenzin was probably the last person she had left that felt like family, Lin deserved to be a little goddamn selfish.  BOOK 4 YOU OWE LIN SO MUCH

It seems like Su is able to take advantage of any situation she is in for her benefit.  She wanted to make her mark on the world and she did, she’s attracted to and at home with power and does exactly what needs to be done for her to ‘win’ whether or not it is technically right.  Winning back her sister’s loyalty and then immediately going behind her back to make sure Korra and Co. captured Aiwei, what a fucking snake loooool.  Similar to Lin, loyalty and protecting the people she cares about are of utmost importance to her, but unlike Lin she doesn’t just want justice, she wants vengeance.  She wanted Aiwei’s fucking head, and she got P’li’s.  She knows people and she knows how to cut them to their core, she does it to Lin at least twice (at least i have a life/no wonder tenzin broke up with you).  I think Kya traveled the world with a genuine interest in learning and for adventure, whereas I think Su did that to explore new ways to succeed and excel, and she is proud of all of it.

Tenzin would be a puff because he’s motivated by community and family more than anything else, his dedication to learning and teaching airbender stuff is ravenclaw-y but ultimately the knowledge itself isn’t what drives him, it’s the community and purpose it represents, which I think is Hufferpuffer.  It’s also the house of jobbers heh heh

Bumi is motivated by “is this radical?” and “are we doing this in the most radical way possible?” which is gryffindor

Kya is either Gryff or claw, I can’t decide, leaning Gryff because I don’t think she was interesting in learning and traveling for the sake of knowledge, I think it was more for the fun/thrill of it.

I saw you posting about riots in Hong Kong, could you please explain whats going on there? I know someone who lives there and I want to know if they'll be okay.

choosepeaceoverwar:

So, basically, protests have been going on for the past few days.

University students and secondary school students have been boycotting school for a week because we are dissatisfied with the government’s version of democracy for 2017.

The Central government has promised us democracy for decades, but now they are going back on their promise and declaring that the candidates for the 2017 election will all be hand-picked by them. Well, they didn’t say that outright but that’s what they mean.

So it caused an outrage and us students went on strike.

Then, on Friday night, a group of students on strike rushed into Civic Square to reclaim it. It was originally a space near the government building intended for citizens to use, but the government built up a 3 metre tall fence around it because they are scared of us citizens and our protests.

The police immediately got violent and surrounded them, carrying them out forcibly and using pepper spray despite the fact that they were mere teenagers (young adults at most) with no weapons in their hands.

But that was not all.

This morning, at about 1 am, Benny Tai announced that the pro-democracy Occupy Central movement would start.

The government declared that this was illegal but that did not stop thousands of citizens from participating and joining the peaceful protests in Central, Admiralty and Wan Chai.

It was fine at first. But the police are now increasingly agitated and are attacking people using tear gas, pepper spray, beating them, and even threatening to shoot.

Hong Kong is really messed up right now and I’m almost in tears because of it. Please let the word get out. The world needs to know that this is not okay. We will not stand for it.

Oh and whoever you know will (hopefully) be safe as long as they don’t go to the protests. Don’t worry for now ^^

Hi!! Your headcannons are my absolute favorite! But I was wondering if you could help me with something? Has Marissa Meyer mentioned Kai's last name in the books? I was writing an AU tlc fanfiction and but I couldn't remember Kai having a last name and I don't have time to reread :o If he doesn't, what would you suggest?

lunarheadcanons:

thank you :DDDDD

hnm. I read them for the first time this summer and all I can remember correctly is

Kai’s full name = Prince/Emperor Kaito

Kai’s father = Emperor Rikan

But Ill make this public so someone can reply with answers, the followers are great with that

ALSO YAY TLC FANFICTION YOU GO FANPERSON

Guys, reblog with suggestions :)

Marissa Meyer has never given a royal family name to Kai and Rikan [x]. As mentioned in the Police AU, a fanon surname I am in favor of is "Huang," which is inspired by this High School AU fanfic.

My theory for the reasoning behind “Huang” is that it’s because 皇帝 (huang-di) means “emperor.”

On the other hand, Kai could just be normal like everyone else and have the last name 黄 (huang) meaning “yellow.”

Also similar in pronunciation (but different, obviously) is 王 (wong/wang) meaning “king.”

Yes! Yes! I greatly enjoy this!
And the town is also under fear of the few other towns that are “near”, or as near as things can be in the old west, them and blame them for the sickness and death.
So not only are they threatened by Levana, but also by the other towns.
That provides an incentive to marry Levana for the protection of the town, she’s not magical she just thinks it’s magic when it’s really just germ theory and biological warfare. That means she also doesn’t have a cure for the disease, meaning that even when the main characters defeat her they aren’t down yet. They still need to defend their town from the other towns.

Winter: how are we going to handle her? I think she could be the actual daughter of Levana and a free African American man, but after some KKK or white supremacists burn down their house. Then Levana hides her away to both keep her safe and to help hide Levana’s past. That makes Levana even more sympathetic, but also even more cruel.

what if Levana does have a cure, which makes it worse as she has, or someone she has under her has, the scientific knowledge but she isn’t letting them have it? (like in canon)

Then let’s just give her a magical cure all potion since we already have some magic and supernatural elements.
